timelog.

$ timelog --track --team --report csv|pdf

Time tracking that grows with you: simple mode records time per project with a timer or by hand and totals it for day, week and month — expert mode adds team, clients, budgets, a monitoring dashboard and PDF reports. No account, no telemetry, data stays local. Native for macOS, Windows and Linux.

In development — first beta coming

timelog is being built right now: projects, timer, manual entries, day and week views, summary and CSV export — simple mode first, expert mode with team, budgets and dashboard right behind it. The first beta for macOS, Windows and Linux ships with signed in-app updates.

Downloads go live as soon as the first beta passes our own testing.

Two modes, one timesheet

// simple for one person — expert for the team

Time tracking rarely fails on technology, it fails on effort: too many fields, and nobody logs anything anymore. That is why timelog starts small — pick a project, press start, done. If you need to keep team, clients and budgets in view, switch to expert mode; the entries stay the same.

// simple

One person, one timer

Projects with a color and an optional client, a timer with a note, manual entries from–to or as a duration. Day and week lists with totals, summary per project, CSV export — and a weekly balance against your target hours.

// expert

Team, budgets, reports

People with weekly target and hourly rate, clients → projects → tasks, tags and a billable flag. Hours or money budget per project with a warning threshold, a dashboard for management and project leads, reports as PDF and CSV with every field.

// offline-first

A team without a server

Everyone tracks locally and exports their entries as a JSON package; the project lead imports and merges — ID-based, no duplicates. No server, no account, no sync service reading along.

// the LAN-SOLO way

Native & honest

Raw data stays exact; rounding happens only in display and export — traceable to 5 or 15 minutes. Times stored in UTC, shown in local time; no telemetry, data in the app folder.

// And since we keep it honest: simple mode stays free — for good. Expert mode is the tracked plan: €12 a year, available from launch.

Features

// planned for version 1.0

Timer & entries

Start and stop with project and note, the running timer visible in the header. Manual entries from–to or as a duration, edit, duplicate, resume — one timer at a time so the totals add up.

Day, week, summary

Day and week views as a list with totals, switch calendar weeks, hours per project for today, this week, this month or any range. Optional weekly target hours — the weekly balance shows overtime and shortfall. CSV export included.

Team & structuretracked

People with weekly target, hourly rate and color; clients, projects and tasks as a hierarchy, tags and a billable flag per entry. Views filterable per person — merged via JSON export and import, no server.

Monitoring & budgetstracked

Hours per project, client and person for any range, utilization actual vs. target, budget traffic light with a warning at 80 %, trend over the last eight weeks, billable vs. non-billable, top projects — one dashboard for management and project leads.

Reports as PDF & CSVtracked

Summary per project, client, person and range with a detail list — as PDF with optional company name and logo in a plain layout, as CSV with every field: person, client, project, task, start, end, duration, rounded, billable, rate, amount, tags, note.

Week lock & comforttracked

Close and lock weeks per person, reopen only as project lead. Plus idle detection while the timer runs, a reminder after hours, keyboard shortcuts for start, stop, new entry and week switch — and CSV import for existing data.
